SELinux is a security extension for the linux operating system. With it, you can provide a more robust security policy allowing for granular access to system resources.

Here, I will show you how to disable this wonderful feature, which, i bet, is done by most linux admins, for better or worse.

  1. Logon to your system as root.
  2. edit the /etc/selinux/config file
  3. Replace the line, SELINUX=enforcing with SELINUX=disabled
  4. Save the file
  5. Reboot
